West Allis, WI - Workers from over 28 Walmart locations in 12 states walked off the job this week and found out that they are the ones who really have the power. To bring greater visibility to this historic, long time coming walkout, the Overpass Light Brigade took a “WALKOUT ON WALMART” message to an overpass bridge. Walmart has mistreated their employees and quashed union drives for years so it is great to finally see the workers fighting back!

The Overpass Light Brigade (also known as OLB) is an affiliation of volunteer activists that use LED letters to spell out messages on Wisconsin pedestrian overpass bridges. These performative actions, called “Bridge Parties,” use the people’s bandwidth of public space to engage in creative and peaceful protests using tactics of visibility.
